Zumba Q & A

Zumba Q & A

Zumba is the brand-new dance workout platform that’s taking over the region.

With diverse dance routines from meringue & salsa to bollywood & belly dancing they are put together in to a workout with a fantastic party atmosphere.

Zumba was created by Beto Perez from Latin America who one day forgot the music for his aerobics class. All he had was a bunch of music CDs from his car. With that mixed bag of music the lesson he instructed proved to be very well liked and the rest is history.

It was discovered that many people were feeling uncomfortable by the old method of directing a exercise class. So in comparison all Zumba workouts are led with no or minimal verbal queuing & with no pressure from the instructor to do the steps properly.

The girls in the class just mimic the routines the trainer is doing but if they cannot or do not desire to do that move, all they must do is to do their own thing, keep moving & to have fun fun fun!

Zumba is awesome for people over the age of 16 and is great for all groups of fitness and experience. But for people younger than that there’s Zumbatomic. There is no dress code (Spandex is NOT essential!).

Just wear what you feel comfortable in but also don’t forget you will be extremely hot! The best shoes to wear are those that will assist your foot support (like an aerobic type shoe). It’s good not to wear a shoe that has too much traction because can cause work load on your knees.

People are encouraged to bring a towel & a drink with them since you will become extremely hot! There is a break after every song allowing everyone to have a small taste of water before the work out commences.

With Zumba classes showing up everywhere, places are slowly starting to shake as if hit by an earth quake, as dancers shimmy, shake & gyrate to the fantastic Latin beats that is Zumba Fitness.

Zumba is contagious with some people having to go to four or 5 classes per week because they appreciate the system SO much.

In an average 1 hour long workout, you will lose close to five-hundred – six-hundred calories but can burn as many as 8 hundred if you pull all of the stops out.
